Marco Valoti: Art as a Mirror of Existence
Marco Valoti is an artist who explores the depths of the human soul through an intense pictorial and poetic language, capable of evoking images and sensations that transcend time and space. His works are structured in a series of tableaux, in which Valoti reflects on the concept of freedom, the memory of ancient cities, solitude, the human condition, and both individual and collective destiny.
Freedom – Tableau No.1
Freedom is the central theme of this first tableau, in which Valoti expresses a disillusioned yet profound vision of the human condition. According to the artist, freedom exists only in dreams, while in reality, we are bound by our possibilities and circumstances. He denounces the illusion of partial freedom, arguing that it must be total to be authentic. This reflection reveals a critique of modern society, which builds its balance on servitude to labor.
Ancient City – Tableau No.2
In this painting, Valoti pays homage to ancient cities, imbued with history and an almost mystical aura. He questions what keeps them alive despite the passage of centuries: the sun, nature, the desert, or perhaps the memory of men? His words evoke the beauty and vulnerability of these places, which endure among ruins and the indifferent gazes of tourists.
Farewell to a Friend – Tableau No.4
A work of poignant melancholy, dedicated to a childhood friend. Valoti describes parting as a navigation without direction, a pain that unites human experiences in a thin thread of existence and memory. The artist’s words become a farewell song, a final caress for those who are no longer here.
Special Considerations – Tableau No.5
In this tableau, Valoti addresses the theme of the proletarian condition through the figure of a woman, Maria, who has lived a life of suffering and deprivation. The tone is almost that of a secular prayer, an invitation not to place hope in false idols but to believe in the revenge of those who have suffered. The artist paints a raw and realistic social portrait, denouncing the ingratitude and injustice of the world.
Alone – Tableau No.6
With a sense of bitter solitude, Valoti reflects on himself and his role in society. The artist finds himself torn between the desire to conform and the urge to rebel, in an inner struggle that clashes with social conventions. The theme of alienation emerges strongly, as does the awareness of how difficult it is to truly change things.
An Art Between Painting and Poetry
Marco Valoti uses the pictorial medium to accompany his words, making his tableaux not only visual works but also manifestos of thought. The use of acrylic on polystyrene, with a format of 120 x 80 cm, gives his creations a tangible physicality, while the themes he addresses provide a deep philosophical and social dimension.
With his art, Valoti does not merely represent reality but questions it, deconstructs it, and reassembles it into fragments of visual poetry. Each of his tableaux is an invitation to reflection, a journey into the human soul that leaves an indelible mark on the observer.
